too many oars in the water. too many pots on the stove.

2006 was the "ooh, i wanna do that!" year. i re-kindled my love affair with music journalism via audiosuede which was fun.

audiosuede is/was my mp3 blog. i preferred to post music by people i knew. i posted a Milwaukee band, Downer, that Ali and i met on the Orlock U.S. tour in 97. i posted Richmond, VA bands that you never heard of. on the other hand i posted some Danzig and Converge. i also posted some great segments of a Bill Cooper interview around 9/11.

anyway.

i started it in 2005 and stopped. i started it again earlier in 2006 and just stopped again. i guess i can call it 'indefinite hiatus' like Sleater Kinney and Fugazi. i may pick it up again, maybe not.

i put it to sleep in order to focus more (most) of my attention on the rock. no, not that rock. this rock. the rock that i make with Ali. it seems that we do a pretty good job of entertaining ourselves by making things together. music, babies. that sort of thing.

to the uninitiated: The Wades is Ali Wade and Chris Wade. we're married. we're parents of three rad kids, one of which we're pretty sure is a human/alien hybrid. we met in poetry class while in art school. we've been together since 1992, married since 1996. we've made music together on and off the whole time, most notably in the band Orlock from Richmond, VA. prior to that i was in a band that was emo when emo wasn't cool called hose.got.cable.

we do a website called wadebrigade dot org which, although mostly about the rock, has the only dual 'his and hers' blog that i know of. there are mp3's, videos and photos. i like it. it's pretty.

we're currently writing for a new record. well, i guess it'll be a cd, really. but i've been saying 'record' my whole life so i'm not stopping now. anyway. we've been really busy adjusting to a new state and new jobs. the songs don't grow on trees but there coming. we've demo'ed alot of ideas and i always have 'hot licks' in my noggin.

thanks to any and all of you for yr kind words, especially all the rad stuff you say about Ali (digitalburning). she's totally awesome and deserving of the attention. she makes cooler stuff in her sleep than i ever could.

special thanks to Tedco, the Freaky. we heart some freakpowertix.
